| The modular nose gear incorporates the airframe mounting system. Shown here partially completed, the zinc chromate protective finish has not been applied. The aluminum mount incorporates the gear rotation mechanism. The two-part hinged back-brace/retract linkage, and actuator are also in this assembly. As in the main gear, a calibrated spring will provide the function of the prototypical oleo strut. |
