| The T-170 is an 100" wingspan low wing monoplane with 1600 square inches of wing area, and weighs 17 lbs. The model was built from RC Modeler plan No. 945 (RCM, Aug 1985) in 1989. The "T" comes from the original Terrier design, in a smaller size, by Al Clark. George R. Smith enlarged it 170% (thus, the "170") and specifically designed this version for the Quadra 35. With a Quadra 42 up front it has a little more power and performance. This T-170 is flown at the Alaska Radio Control Society (ARCS) field in Anchorage by my son, Glen. |
| The T-170 shown below is the first one I built. It was presented to fellow ARCS member and good friend, Doug Hebel. Powered by a Zenoah G-38, it was flown at the Alaska Radio Control Society (ARCS) field by Doug until he moved to California. There the aircraft met it's demise when the radio system battery failed in flight. |
