Dial-Up Setup in Windows ME
|

Follow the tutorial below to set up your dialer.

1. Click on Start, then Settings, then Dialup Networking.
|
|
|
2. Double click on Make a New Connection.
|
|
|
3. Type Net Venture in the Type a Name for the Computer you are Dialing box. Your modem should display in the Select a Device box. Then click Next.
|
|
|
4. Type the phone number of the connection you are dialing in the Telephone Number box. Make sure you leave the Area Code box blank. Then click Next.
|
|
|
5. Then click Finish to complete your dial-up connection for Net-Venture.
|
|
|
6. Then right click on the Net Venture icon and choose Properties.
|
|
|
7. On the General tab, uncheck Use Area Code and Dialing Properties box.
|
|
|
8. Click on Networking and uncheck NetBEUI and IPX/SPX.
|
|
|
9. Click on the Security tab. Type your Username and Password but leave the Domain box blank. Check the Connect Automatically box.
|
|
|
10. Click on the Dialing tab. Check This the Default Internet Connection and Always Dial my Default Connection. Uncheck Enable Idle Disconnect and Disconnect When Connection May Not Be Needed.

11. Click OK and close the Dial-up Networking box. Now go test your new Dial-Up Connection.
