Static IP address configuration for Actiontec Dsl Modems

|
1. To access the Basic Setup configuration screens, follow these instructions:
Open the Web browser. In the address bar enter: http://192.168.0.1 then press Enter on the keyboard.

2. Choose Setup / Configuration
|
|
|
3. In the Set Up/Configuration screen, read the instructions. First and foremost you will want to create an administrative passphrase to login to your Actiontec modem then select Advanced Setup from the menu on the left side.
|
|
|
4. In the next screen, click Begin Advanced Setup.
|
|
5. Select WAN IP Address.
Note: If changes have been made to one or more Advanced Setup settings and Save and Restart has not been clicked before leaving the Advanced Setup screens (i.e., switching to Utilities or Basic Setup), all Advanced Setup settings changes will be lost.

6. Selecting WAN IP Address in the Advanced Configuration screen generates the WAN IP Address screen.WAN IP Address allows manual set up of the IP address of the Gateway. Select Obtain an IP Address through PPPoE/PPPoA.
Do not select Specify a Static IP address at this point.

7. Enter your assigned static IP address here.
|
|
8. Selecting LAN IP Address in the Advanced Configuration screen generates the LAN IP Address screen. The value in the LAN IP Address text box is the IP address of the Gateway as seen on the network.
Note: If the Gateway's LAN IP Address is modified, verify the DHCP Server Range is within the same subnet. For more information, see DHCP Server Configuration. After changing settings, click Next or Back to continue, or Save and Restart to make all changes permanent.

9. You will need to disable the built in DHCP server in order to properly configure your host with a static IP address.
Click through until you get to the NAT option, this feature must also be turned off.

|
10. Once you have turned NAT off, you have finished the configuration of your Actiontec modem for use with a static IP address. Please save and restart your Actiontec modem.
